St. Brendans vs Macroom Match Report

On Wednesday the 14th of October St. Brendan’s travelled to Ballyvourney to play a Macroom side fresh from their win the Friday before. St Brendan’s fielded a strong team but without the injured Paul O’Shea. St Brendan’s started strong and continued the same way as Darragh O Donoghue scored an early goal to settle nerves. Dylan Murphy and Darragh O Donoghue lead the line with 4 goals between them. Darragh Lyne, Michael Lenihan, Niall Mcgillicuddy, Ryan Kelliher, Tadgh Doolan and Marc Cooper all chipped in with scores, as St Brendan’s lead 5-8 to 1 point at half time. St. Brendans went into the second half, looking to close up the game and made some great substitutions, Ruairi Doyle scoring a point and Darrragh Oleary scoring a well taken goal. Conor Sheahan also scored a great goal set up by another substitute Cian Murphy, as the game came to a close Macroom made a comeback scoring 3-3 in a few minutes but the Sem performance of the first half and most of the second left them with too much to do and the game finished              St Brendan’s 7-10 to Macroom 3-5.
