St Brendan’s Corn Uí Mhuiri Champions

The St. Brendan’s College senior team were victorious in the Corn Uí Mhuirí Final against High School Clonmel on Saturday in Mallow. The St. Brendan’s intentions were clear from the get go. They blitzed the Clonmel side with three early goals from Evan Cronin, Micheal Casey and David Clifford. The goals set the tone for the rest of the game. The St. Brendan’s forwards were superb, but an attack alone cannot win a game. The Sem defence was rock solid throughout with Micheal Potts and Cian Gammell showing great . Captain Daniel O’Brien lead his team from the back with some inspirational tackles. David Carroll also gave a heroic performance in goal. Billy Courtney and Lee O’Donoghue both performed superbly in the middle of the park. In short, every player that pulled on a Green and Gold jersey did their school proud.  The final score was 5-21 to 0-07. The Sem now march on to the Hogan Cup Semi-Final where another tough battle awaits them against Leinster champions St. Benildus on March 16th.Captain Dan O Brien Corn Ui Mhuiri Mar 16
