Semi-Final VS. Colaiste na Scellige

On Friday May 1st the St.Brendan’s College 1st year football team travelled to Caherslee in Tralee and won the Kerry Secondary Schools First Year Blitz. They first had to win a semi-final against Colaiste na Scellige and they did so on a score line of 6-11 to 1-5. Paul o’Shea scored two early points to give St.Brendan’s the lead. The Sem went from strength to strength after that with scores from Paul o’Shea (1-2),Cian Murphy (1-3),Niall McGillycuddy (0-1),Liam Spillane (0-2),Darragh Donoghue (2-0) and Ruari Doyle (1-0).In the second half Colaiste na Scellige upped their performance and their score went from 0-3 to 1-5 but it was too late as the Sem scored another 1-3 with Jack Duggan,Jack Corridon and Dylan Murphy scoring a point each and Niall McGillycuddy hitting the back of the net. Peter o’Sullivan played very well in wing back coming on for Adam Kissane.  After that win the Sem progressed to the final where they would face C.B.S. who had beaten Rathmore in the other semi-final.
