The students of St Brendan's College where treated to a visit by well known gaa stars Niall McNamee and Oisín McConville on Wednesday morning. The two well known gaelic footballers came to the school to tell their personal stories regarding their well publicised gambling addiction. An enthralled audience of third,fifth and leaving cert students gathered in the study hall where they heard how an addiction to gambling had affected Oisín and Niall's lives. As recognised in the media recently, the spectre of gambling is now a cause of major concern for parent organisations, sports’ bodies and all those involved in the education of young people.
