Members of the Parents’ Council, students and staff were on hand this week to launch the 2016 St. Brendan’s College Fayre Day. Held to commemorate St. Brendan’s Day, the festivities begin with the student choir from the school performing at the 12 o’clock Mass in the Cathedral.  From 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. students, parents, staff, past pupils and members of the community are invited to sample the array of activities, stalls, sporting and novelty events organised by the Parents’ Council.

As with last year, second-hand book stalls, handbags stalls, previously loved sports’ gear stalls offer the opportunity to browse for bargains, while the home-baking and gourmet burgers stand will satisfy all appetites! New this year, is the feature Pestaurant which will offer a delightful alternative menu for the brave-at-heart.

In the Bishop’s field meanwhile, whether it’s bouncing castles, face-painting, entering your pet in the dog show or watching the final of the 1st year John Doyle Cup, the Junior Cycle Beckett-O’Connor Cup or marvelling at the skills of our 6th years in the grand finale of the Shirts –v- Jumpers Soccer Cup – you will not be disappointed for entertainment.

Now in its second year, the Fayre Day was a wonderful celebration of community in its inaugural year. The Parents’ Council are also delighted to welcome back the Leaving Cert class of 1965 as guests of the Event.
