Carol Service on Thursday last, 11th December, 2014.

On Thursday last, 11th December, two-hundred-and-fifty students, parents and staff packed into the College chapel for the annual Carol Service.carol xmas

With fifty-four boys in our choir, supported by eight musicians on the night, the reflection Service truly captured a sense of the true meaning of Christmas.

With a liturgy challenging us to peel away the commercial layers increasingly associated with Christmas, wrapped in eight beautifully performed Christmas carols, the students certainly drew forth a simple but wonderful sense of the season. The choir – led by teachers, Mrs. Mish O’Donoghue and Ms. Emer Devane, having prepared diligently for the event, did not disappoint. With solo pieces by Seán Cronin, Jonathan O’Keeffe, David Payne, Oissine Moore, Jonathan Green, Armandasxmas carol 2 Bendaravicius Carol Service Readersand Oisin Treacy and a virtuouso violin performance by Cian B. O’Sullivan and Noise Gloser on saxophone, an astounding cacophany of talent was to the fore!!

As always at this time of year, following the performance, all in attendance were invited to the refectory for mince pies!

Next up for the talented group is the concert with Liam O’Connor on March 4th.
