Foundation level coaching course

20141212_124116Transition year students from St Brendan’s College completed a foundation level GAA coaching course on Friday last in St Brendan’s College. The course was conducted by Vince Copper East Kerry juvenile GAA development officer and David O Dea South Kerry hurling development officer. Students who completed this course can coach underage GAA teams. In addition it would be hoped that these students would continue to progress their coaching competence by supporting the underage coaching structures within their local clubs. Any students willing to further enhance their coaching qualifications can continue on and complete an award one child coaching course under the tutelage of qualified Kerry GAA coaches. Many of these students also completed a basic refereeing course earlier in the year further demonstrating the excellent link between St Brendan’s College and the East Kerry GAA Board in promoting all aspects of Gaelic Games to students.
