formal ceremony to raise the tricolour at St Brendan’s.
Beginning with the formation of a guard of honour, an army piper, Sgt Noel McCarthy led the colour party Luke Moynihan and Daniel Keane. Peter O Sullivan then read a reflection on the life of Thomas Francis Meagher (the man who designed and flew the first Irish Tricolour in Waterford on March 7th 1841)
Following the raising of the flag, Adam O Connor (1st year) led Amhrán na bhFiann after which James Knoblauch and James Lynch read the Proclamation.
As is evident from the photograph the tricolour flew beautifully throughout the ceremony. – Well done all!
