Students

Students at the College are encouraged to participate in the full breadth of experiences on offer. In seeking to holistically develop our students St. Brendan’s offers challenge to the many facets of intelligence at the core of a fully lived life.

Full engagement with the curriculum- all subjects studied in class; the co-curriculum-the wide range of in-school speakers and projects which are on offer such as Student Council, Tidy Towns, Gaisce, Kerry Life Education, anti-bully initiatives and Health Promotion activities, and the extracurricular activities- I.C.T activities, Young Scientist, Young Entrepreneur, Art, Choir, and Music of all genres, debates, quizzes, ceili’s or sports such as gaelic football, soccer, rugby, athletics, cross country, golf, weight training, rock climbing, cycling and adventure activities- is essential to maximizing the educational benefit available to students of the College.

Student engagement is monitored by teachers and Year heads. Parents who feel that their son’s engagement is insufficient or over-committed are encouraged to work with the Year Head and Guidance Counsellor to ensure appropriate involvement.

The college is currently developing a  more broad report mechanism in relation to student engagement with the full life of the school community.
