Students “Giving Back”
Fundraising for Charities
Students of St Brendan’s College display a great tradition of fund raising for many charitable organisations. Through a variety of events- from Cheltenham at the Sem to Christmas Carol Singing or the St. Vincent de Paul food Appeal, from non-uniform days to charity raffles, from making and selling St. Brigid’s crosses to Easter Egg Hunts and Movember, our students are extremely generous in gathering funds for those less fortunate than themselves.
For the upcoming year 2014/15 the Student Council have targeted the following local charities as the focus of our fundraising
- St Vincent De Paul
- Irish Cancer Society
Fundraising for the School in the year 2013/14
In these austere times, and in order that the college continue to offer a myriad of co-curricular activities, the College Board of Management, in coordination with the Parents’ Association and the Student Council organises several keynote events throughout the year. These fundraisers are of critical importance to the maintenance of a diverse and enriched co-curricular programme of events for our students.
For 2013/14 the plan was to organise a Fundraising Raffle at Christmas and Easter, a cycle event during the Christmas break in conjunction with the Christmas in Killarney committee and the St. Brendan’s College Golf Classic on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March 2014. This Golf Classic invites past pupils, parents and friends of St Brendan’s to engage with a significant supporting event for the future development of the college.
