St Brendan’s is now set to launch its’ past pupils network – Cairde Bhréanainn.
The purpose of this union is manifold. It will offer past pupils a vehicle by which to continue or rekindle the strong bonds of friendship initiated during their time at St. Brendan’s.
It will be a focal point and a support for reunion events. In recent times the 1962 and 1963 classes have had tremendous gatherings, while the All-Ireland winning basketball team of 1988 also had a 25 year reunion.
It will offer some financial support to the College as it endeavours to continue its’ development School Plan.
It will provide information – Cairde Bhréanainn events will be posted on the College website well in advance thereby allowing a broad range of past pupils the opportunity to organise their own attendance and link in with others who may which to attend.
By linking up the College will literally keep past pupils up to speed with developments, events, highlights and occasions as they unfold each academic year.
It will offer new learning experiences for our students. As a College with a great heritage Cairde Bhreanainn will also act as a means by which past pupils can offer support and guidance to current students. In the past year a number of past pupils have spoken to 6th years. The experience has been invaluable.
